THE Duke of Marlborough has won a lifetime achievement award recognising his service to English tourism.
The Duke, who lives at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, received the VisitEngland award on Tuesday.
It recognises the Duke’s protection of Blenheim Palace and his work ensuring visitors can enjoy the palace now and into the future.
His Grace said: “I am honoured and proud to have received this award.
“Blenheim Palace is part of our national heritage and a World Heritage Site. It has always been my ambition and desire to try to ensure Blenheim’s future so that people from all over the world can continue to come to enjoy our national treasure in beautiful surroundings.”
The palace had more than 500,000 visitors last year.
