SHAME on you.
Please restore my faith in human nature and tell me that the plan to charge The League of Friends £25,000 per year rent for their café at the John Radcliffe hospital is just a sick joke.
Sadly though, I suspect it is not, but the sheer greed of whoever is doing this will make money at the hospital’s expense.
Some evil-eyed capitalist has spotted that a wonderful group of people called The League of Friends is able to generate thousands of pounds from an area about the size of a tennis court and donate all of the profits to the John Radcliffe hospital.
I do not like to think ill of people but I suspect that whoever is demanding this rent is not going to donate it to the hospital but keep it for themselves as a nice bit of “easy-to-come-by” pocket money.
Shame on these heartless profiteers and I only hope that somehow we can stop this injustice becoming a reality.
Good luck and God bless you League of Friends. It’s nice to know that there are still some caring human beings in this world who have a real set of values.
