PEOPLE wanting to play a role in the “Big Society” can attend a volunteer recruitment day in Witney this week.
Tomorrow’s event will feature 25 community groups and charities at Langdale Hall, Langdale Gate, from 10am to 2pm. The groups cover issues including young people, conservation, museum work, guiding and the ambulance service.
Mayor of Witney Harry Eaglestone will open the event.
He said: “Volunteering really makes a difference to the lives of so many people who benefit from the services of community groups and charities and it is also extremely rewarding.”
The event has been organised by Volunteer Link-Up, Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action and Witney Town Council.
