IT IS disturbing that Oxford University Hospitals Trust is apparently clueless about the effect of the doctors’ strike on its services.

Yesterday the trust said no one had taken an overall view of how many patients were having appointments and surgery cancelled during tomorrow’s industrial action. It also would not say which medical services were being affected.

Surely an organisation with a turnover in excess of £650m of taxpayers’ money should be aware of the impact so that it can efficiently minimise it?
