SCORES of worshippers from nine different faiths came together to walk in friendship through the streets of Oxford.

Led by the Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Rev John Pritchard, Imam Munir Chisti, Imam Ata Ullah Khan and Rabbi Norman Solomon walkers gathered at the synagogue in Richmond Road, Jericho, at 6.15pm yesterday.

Organiser Penny Faust said: “People are walking along carrying multicoloured balloons, it seems to be quite busy.

“We will pick up more people in St Giles’ – it’s beautiful in the sunshine and there’s a very jolly atmosphere.

“There are rickshaws for people who can’t walk.”

The route took in St Giles’ Church before moving to Radcliffe Square, where Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh prayers were said before finishing with a meal at the Central Mosque in Manzil Way, off Cowley Road.
