A pensioner lost more than £1,800 after being duped by a telephone scam.
The 75-year-old from Cutteslowe was called at home on Wednesday by a woman supposedly offering extra winter fuel payments for additional cold days experienced earlier in the year.
The amount was later refunded by the pensioner’s bank. Anyone experiencing similar calls should contact police on 101.
