MR Siret’s letter (View Points, August 27) is a pack of nonsense.
Assange is being extradited to Sweden (not America), to answer charges of rape which, for all Mr Siret knows, are genuine and should be proved or refuted in open court.
If Mr Siret is so concerned about American justice, why doesn’t he champion Gary McKinnon, who really is in danger of being extradited to America?
Perhaps McKinnon should take Latvian citizenship and take up refuge in the Latvian Embassy – then Mr Siret would back him up.
I must inform Mr Siret that bashing Uncle Sam is old hat nowadays.
He should leave such things to the Morning Star.
