Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary held its annual fundraising open day yesterday, despite the wet weather.

There were activities, including birds of prey demonstrations, raffles and a tombola. Staff also volunteered to be placed in the stocks and pelted with wet sponges.

The South Oxfordshire centre, home to 250 domestic pets, is facing closure after 46 years unless it can raise an extra £40,000 a month.
