YOUNGSTERS shaved the best for last when things got hairy at the Ashmolean Museum on Saturday.
When men around the country marked Movember by growing their whiskers the Beaumont Street museum opened its doors to provide children with moustache-inspired tours.
Evie Sugden, nine, and her seven-year-old sister Bea began the tour by making their own moustaches on sticks, which they used to add Agatha Christie-styled Poirot whiskers to the displays. Youngsters were also given the chance to make hairy paintings and objects at the Family Activity Station, or go on the moustache-inspired Tashmolean Tour to marvel at the facial hair in the museum’s collection.
The events aimed to highlight Movember, in which people spend the month growing their moustaches to raise cash for men’s health charities.
