The Kite Inn in Osney will close tonight for approximately three weeks due to a change in tenancy.
The historic pub is shutting its doors while owners Greene King try to appoint a new tenant after the role recently became vacant.
Ahead of the closure staff will be selling alcohol drinks at a reduced price tonight.
A member of the bar staff said: "We had an Australian family take over a couple of years ago but they lost a lot of customers because they were inexperienced.
"We had another guy take over last year but he recently left. It's a tough job."
He said that new tenants were set to be appointed in the next few days.
It is believed there has been a pub on the Mill Street site for about 200 years, and the building itself dates back to the late 1800s.
