Pop’s outspoken princess Lily Allen will be performing an intimate gig exclusively for people who live in Oxfordshire.

Only those who can prove they have an OX postcode will be allowed into the concert at the recently renamed O2 Academy in Cowley Road — formerly the Zodiac — on January 27.

The show is a warm-up for Miss Allen’s tour around the UK in March, her first for two years.

Nelly B Page, an Oxford DJ and Lily Allen fan, said she was excited about the news.

She said: “I think it’s a great idea to make it exclusive to people from Oxfordshire too.

“The problem with places like the Academy is that people who prefer small venues buy up all the tickets and local people can’t go. I’ll definitely be going along to watch her.

“I like the fact she’s gobby and says what she means.

“It’ll be good for the younger kids too who might not usually get this sort of chance to see her.”

According to Oxford-based ticket company We Got Tickets, the decision to allocate by postcode is a groundbreaking idea.

Spokesman Cristina Riveiros said: “I’ve certainly not heard of this sort of thing happening before.

“I’m pretty sure she might be the first person to do it like this.

“I think it’s a great idea, although I’m not sure how they are going to enforce it.

“I imagine anyone can use their friend’s postcode if they really want to go.”

Organisers of the gig said they will be able to determine postcodes by asking for proof of ID when the tickets were sold.

The gig will be open to all ages, although under-14s will have to be accompanied by an adult.

Doors will open at 7.30pm with an 11pm curfew.

Tickets, costing £15, are on sale from the O2 Academy, in Cowley Road.
