MEET Robottle – a prototype robot made out of plastic water bottles and some other “bits and bobs”.
His inventor, 11-year-old Edward Taylor, created the aquabot robot in a day of activities at Larkmead School, Abingdon. Pupils from around the town went to the secondary school on Friday to build the quirky robots.
Rush Common School pupil Edward, who lives in Abingdon, said: “It was really good fun. We were finding scraps and things like old electronics and bits and bobs and stuck them onto bottles to create robots.”
The aquabots have gone on display at the inventors’ schools but will then be put up for sale to raise money for international charity WaterAid, along with a collection of self-portraits by children from around the world which will go on display at Larkmead from Friday for a week.
