A MAN has been arrested over two sexual assaults that happened during break-ins in Bicester overnight on Friday.

The 26-year-old, from Bicester, is in police custody on suspicion of burglary and sexual assault.

Police believe one man broke into two homes in the Southwold estate.

A 21-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods in connection with the incidents and is in custody.

Thames Valley Police said the first home was broken into at about 5am on Saturday.

The intruder stole a PlayStation 3 games console, mobile phone, DVDs and headphones and groped a woman who was asleep on the sofa, officers said.

When she woke up he fled.

Another property was broken into just after 6am where police said a man stole contents of a handbag and sexually assaulted a woman while she was asleep in bed.

He ran out of the house when she woke up. Officers said the offender was black with shaved hair and wearing a dark hooded top.
