MOVE over Mary Berry – Bicester boasts its own batch of talented bakers who showed off their skills at an event held at the weekend.
Mum-of-two Angela Pearson hosted a Bake Off event attended by 30 bakers at the Nightingale Pub on Saturday to raise money to combat Muscular Dystrophy.
Her two sons Adam and Jay McKechnie were both diagnosed with the progressive muscle wasting condition at a young age.
She called on bakers to get creative to raise money to find a cure. Her target was £1,000 but she found she had raised £1,168, with the total still climbing.
Miss Pearson said: “I was absolutely overwhelmed with how generous people were. It was a really nice atmosphere. I was hoping for about 10 entries but we ended up getting 30.”
The mother from Launton lives with partner Chris McKechnie and often raises money for Muscular Dystrophy UK, as the charity has helped the family.
