A man who assaulted and robbed a teenager in Didcot has been jailed for four years.
Charlie Abery, of Blake's Field in the town, pleaded guilty at Oxford Crown Court on Friday to one charge of robbery and one charge of causing actual bodily harm.
The 19-year-old attacked his 17-year-old victim in Cow Lane in Didcot on June 16 and robbed him.
Police did not say what was stolen but the victim suffered injuries to his mouth which required surgery.
Abery was arrested and charged with the offences on June 16.
He was sentenced on the same day as his guilty plea at Oxford Crown Court to four years for robbery and three years for causing actual bodily harm to run concurrently.
The sentencing made use of Better Case Management, which aims to speed up criminal proceedings.
Det Sgt Francesca Jarvis said: "It is clear that the team leading this investigation have worked extremely hard to obtain the right outcome not only for the victim but also the local community.
“This sentencing reflects the standard of the new Better Case Management whereby the defendant was charged and put before the court.
"As a result of the hearing on 15 July, Abery received a four year custodial sentence for robbery and a three year sentence for assault to run concurrently.
“The offence itself was extremely nasty where the victim sustained injuries as a result of being set upon. This is a great result and my praise goes to those officers involved in this investigation.”
