ANDREW Norton, director of The Jam Factory restaurant and arts centre, took his two-year-old nephew Jack Gaskell to an exhibition by Oxfordshire-based artist Lynette Kay.
Flight is a collection of mixed media paintings reflecting the artist’s ‘synasthesia’, a condition in which senses overlap. Mr Norton, 33, said: “It’s a vibrant, eclectic mix of very summery pictures that appeals to everybody, even my nephew. I asked him what ones he liked and he kept pointing at the colourful ones.”
Mr Norton’s sister, Claire Gaskell, joined The Jam Factory as co-director about 18 months ago and the family connection goes even further.
Their mother, Linda Norton, makes cakes, jelly, chutney and marmalade for the restaurant and ‘Mum’s Cakes’.
