AN EMERGENCY SOS bus launched to treat drunk and injured revellers in Oxford’s city centre treated 20 people in its first weekend.

Of the 20 people treated on November 15 and 16 on the purpose-built bus, it is believed 13 would normally have been taken to the John Radcliffe hospital.

One person was taken the hospital for further treatment.

The pilot scheme, managed by South Central Ambulance Service, will operate in Cornmarket Street on Friday and Saturday nights from 10.30pm to 5.30am.
