THE woman whose body was found in the Oxford Canal on Friday has been named as Rachel Severn.
She was spotted face down in the water, between Bridge Street and Mill Lock, Banbury, by a member of the public.
The death is still being treated as unexplained and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
She is described as 5ft tall, with short grey hair, and was wearing a tan-coloured waist-length coat and blue tartan trousers.
She may have been walking between Mill Theatre and Bridge Street.
Her age has not been released.
