OXFORD United women footballers opened Oxford Bus Company's refurbished travel shop on Gloucester Green before the travel company repaid the favour at the team's new home.

The Oxford Bus Company and Oxford United Women took part in a special 'double opening' ceremony on Sunday.

Staff from the two organisations joined together to celebrate two openings, as part of its on-going partnership.

Women's manager Andy Cook and captain Lauren Haynes opened the bus company's refurbished travel shop following an investment of £100,000. The group then travelled together to Court Place Farm, Marston, the new home of Oxford United Women.

Shaun Ritchie, Oxford Bus Company route manager, opened United's new home with captain Haynes and Linsey Pinker following their summer move from Northcourt Road, Abingdon.

Mr Ritchie said: "It was an honour to officially open United's new home and we all hope it heralds the start of a successful season for the Women's team."
