Visitors to Blenheim Palace will be able to sip Sir Winston Churchill’s favourite champagne while they relax in a newly-opened bar.

The champagne bar, in the Water Terrace Café, is part of a multi-million pound revamp of catering facilities at the Woodstock stately home.

It opened this month and is offering Churchill’s favourite champagne, Pol Roger, as well as the palace’s own brand.

A bottle of Pol Roger Cuvée Winston Churchill 1999 will set you back £140, while a bottle of Blenheim Palace Champagne costs £65.

The bar is being run by the palace’s new caters, Searcys.

Palace chief executive John Hoy said: “We think the champagne bar adds a little bit of interest and a touch of class for people who want to visit Blenheim Palace and have a great experience.”
