THE son of a baron has lost his appeal against a conviction for assaulting a police officer.
The Hon Edward Charles d’Olier Gibson carried out a “sustained and drunken” attack on Pc Aaron Walker while resisting arrest at his family home in Lewknor on June 8 last year.
Yesterday Judge Zoe Smith, sitting at Oxford Crown Court, refused to quash the conviction of the 46-year-old son of Edward Barry Greynville Gibson, fourth Baron Ashbourne, and told him to pay £620 costs.
