QUICK-thinking staff at a mill in Minister Lovell prevented a fire spreading after they activated a sprinkler system.
Firefighters praised members of staff at Worsham Mill who wasted no time in calling the service after a fire broke out at about 5am today.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 5:26am and four firefighters extinguished the flames to reduce the damage to a small section of the business.
The building was protected by a sprinkler system which contained the fire until the firefighters arrived.
Incident commander Nathan Crockford said: "The quick-thinking of their staff helped to reduce the impact of the fire on the business and the activation of the sprinkler system prevented the fire from spreading to other areas of the site."
Four fire engines from Burford, Witney and Rewley Road, Oxford, attended the scene.
