PETER Rhoades-Brown is in the running to be named Unsung Hero at the Football League Awards next month.
Oxford United’s football in the community officer, who first came to the club as a player in 1984, has worked tirelessly to help inspire youngsters across Oxfordshire since hanging up his boots.
The 51-year-old, who is on a shortlist of three, was unaware the club had put his name forward.
He said: “I am very fortunate to do a job that I love and to work with some amazing colleagues and children all across the county.”
United are also among six nominated for Family Club of the Year.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday, March 24.
