THE atrocious weather had a major say as much of the OCA League programme was washed out on Saturday.
Only a handful of games reached a conclusion.
In Division 1, Westbury came away from Chadlington with an eight-wicket win.
Ben Cole (4-21) and Charlie Harper (4-31) shone to restrict the home side to 109-8, before Sam Willett hit 47 not out to steer Westbury to 110-2.
Shrivenham saw off hosts East & West Hendred by three wickets.
Hendred posted 193-6 as Jon Francis hit 60 not out and Conor Taylor took 4-47.
Alex Bowles then made 88 not out to win the game for Shrivenham at 194-7.
Cowley Internationals defeated hosts Watlington by five wickets in Division 2.
Three wickets apiece for Majid Khan (3-18) and Brian Barrett (3-19) restricted Watlington to 102-9, and then Eddie Howard’s 31 not out led Cowley to 105-5.
A haul of 6-11 from Mike Hume helped Faringdon to a 106-run home win over Marsh Gibbon.
Faringdon were all out for 141, Hume top-scoring with 46, before skittling out their opponents for only 35.
In Division 3, Chesterton racked up an impressive 205-6 in their home game against local rivals Fringford, Steve Lewis scoring 53.
Fringford were held to 167-9 in their reply as Lee Price kept them in check with 4-28.
Shrivenham 2nd were in a hurry as they cruised to a nine-wicket win at home to Brill in Division 6.
Matthew Brown captured 5-14 as Brill were shot out for 100, before Adam Taylor (41no) and Steve Bowles (35no) led Shrivenham to 101-1.
Hosts Dorchester beat Sunningwell by six wickets.
Steve McComb claimed 4-37 in Sunningwell’s 162 all out, before scoring 51 as Dorchester reached 163-4, Adrian Redhead top-scoring with 59.
Richard Green (81no) and Douglas Hilliam (5-43) were the stars for Hanney in their 36-run home success over Risinghurst.
Hanney rattled up 170-9, before dismissing their visitors for 134.
All games in Division 7 reached conclusions, although it took a rare declaration from Swinbrook 2nd to beat Stonesfield 2nd by 42 runs.
Hosts Swinbrook reached 114-1 before declaring, Tom Julian top-scoring with 58 not out.
In reply, Stonesfield fell to 72 all out as Kevin Salway took 4-5 and Dean Moss 3-15.
In a rain-affected match, Westbury 2nd beat Kidlington 2nd by 61 runs at home.
Charlie Feather made 66 not out in Westbury’s 145-1, before Ron Ridgeway took 4-16 to help restrict Kidlington to 84-7.
Matty Turner had a good day for East & West Hendred 2nd in their 55-run victory at Steventon. His 56 helped Hendred to 159-9 and he then captured 5-17 to help dismiss Steventon for 104.
Tetsworth eased to a six-wicket triumph at Uffington 2nd.
In Division 8, Combe 2nd came away from Marcham 2nd with a 58-run win. Peter Neyroud hit 41 and Stuart Gardner 31 in Combe’s 172-9, and then James Grist-Perkins took 3-25 to help dismiss Marcham for 114.
Wayne Thomas (4-24) and Jonathan Campion (3-1) shone as Wolvercote 2nd recorded an eight-wicket victory at Sunningwell 2nd in Division 9.
The home side were shot out for only 61, and Wolvercote reached 63-2, with Gareth McAloon (32no) leading the way.
Ashley Bird’s haul of 6-9 saw Britwell Salome 2nd to a seven-wicket home win against Deddington 2nd.
Deddington were all out for 83, and then Mark Griffiths hit 34 not out to steer Britwell to 84-3.
