PAULINE Withey retained her British Isles Ladies’ Singles title after a thrilling final against Jean Brackenridge from Sussex.
The Oxford player beat Lynne Moyer, Bella Stoner (both Sussex), Caroline Jones and Anita Blackman (both Surrey) to book her place in the final at Redhill, Surrey.
Withey came out on top over two legs (12,930-10,310) to successfully defend her crown.
- BERINSFIELD beat Gladiators A 3-2 to reach the Scotland Ash Plate final.
They will face Comrades Club, who won 3-1 against Masons B at Headington Con Club.
Chris Webb (11,020) put Masons ahead, before Chris Storch, Chris Alexander and Sean Stratford replied to seal victory.

Kernahan Cup: K Hollis v B Pincombe, S Ponting v C Bateman (at Didcot).
Ladies: P Withey v M Standbridge, S Atkins v J Florey (at Vikings).
Bill Moore Cup: S Ellam v C Mace, C Webb v R Garrett (at Gladiators).
