TIDDINGTON will host Rockhampton in the first national round of The Davidstow Village Cup on Sunday.
Rockhampton, who are known as the Rams, beat Painswick in Sunday’s rearranged Gloucestershire final.
The club are expected to bring a decent number of supporters with them.
Meanwhile, Davidstow Cheddar are the new sponsors of the competition, which is organised by The Cricketer magazine.
Editor Andrew Miller said: “It’s fantastic news. You can never go wrong with a good cheese sandwich.
“It’s the starting point for any worthwhile cricket tea, just as the National Village Cup is the starting point for so many amateur cricketers pursuing their dreams this summer.”
- ASTON Rowant’s Gary and Tom Condon have become the club’s first father and son to hit centuries in the same season.
Tom, 16, made 106 not out for Rowant’s seconds against Bledlow Village in the Cherwell League on Saturday.
Dad Gary, who is club chairman, scored 100 not out for the thirds at Sandford St Martin in May.
