RADLEY College’s Andy Wagner, the Sky Sports ECB coach of the year 2012, attended a masterclass given by England team director, Andy Flower, at Lord’s.

Wagner, who also coaches Middlesex’s under 17 and 19 sides, was at the home of cricket with Flower as part of the ECB coach education programme.

He took part in an interactive session in the indoor centre, where, along with some of his colleagues from both Radley and Middlesex, he was given an insight in to Flower’s coaching outlook.

Wagner, a former Somerset player, has been head coach at Radley for 25 years.

He has been responsible for supporting the development of a number of talented players into professional cricket, including former England captain and Oxfordshire player, Andrew Strauss.

Wagner said: “Getting the chance to have a session with Andy was a fantastic way to celebrate the award and get an insight in to coaching at the highest level.

“It was an experience that will stay with me, and has given me some valuable lessons that I can use in my coaching.”
