Oxfordshire’s hopes of qualifying from Group 4 in the ECB 50+ County Championship are up in the air after they lost to Gloucestershire by five wickets at Stowell Park, near Northleach.

Oxon slumped to 158 all out on a slow and low pitch after winning the toss and opting to bat first, with only Steve Roberts (51) and Malcolm Evans (58) making any impact.

Opener Martin Bowyer (66) then set the hosts on the way to 162-5, with former county captain Tony Wright making 28, despite the efforts of Alec Cunnigham, who took 3-31.

Oxon’s fate now depends on other results.
