STUDLEY Wood strengthened their hold on Section 2 in the Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League with a 3-0 whitewash at home to Witney Lakes.

Skipper Nigel Lawton and Robin King got the hosts away to a good start, shaking hands with Matt Gatland and Jack Lambourne on the 16th green for a 3 & 2 win.

The other matches both went all the way, but Studley Wood claimed both by one hole to take maximum points, stretching their lead to eight points.

John McClure and Greg Stevens edged past Neil Clayton and Charlie Normington.

Nick Mortimer and Joe Fathers sealed the victory against Scott Saunders and Ross Steeples.

Hadden Hill boosted their promotion hopes with a 2-1 win at home to Section 3 leaders Magnolia Park.

With the tie level after the opening two matches, it all came down to the final pairings.

Lee Fuller and Mark Grootz responded with a thumping 6 & 5 win over Jamie Powell and Chris Stones to secure the win.

North Oxford came behind to win 2-1 at Carswell and move clear in Section 4.

After losing the first match, the away side went on to win the next two.

David Titcombe and Nathan Allan won 4 & 2, while Daniel Willoughby and Mark Maclak took the decider 4 & 3.

In the Knock-out Cup, Chiltern Forest became the first side into the semi-finals after a 2-1 win at Feldon Valley.
