Sean Rigg will undergo a scan tomorrow to find out the severity of his hamstring injury.

The winger pulled up while sprinting for a ball just 24 minutes into Oxford United’s 3-1 win at Torquay United on Saturday.

He was immediately substituted and manager Chris Wilder’s initial diagnosis was the 24-year-old would be out for at least four weeks.

More will be known after the scan, with the results likely to be revealed on Thursday.

Rigg’s injury provides an opportunity for someone else to break into the starting XI for Saturday’s home game against Wycombe Wanderers.

One of the alternatives is fellow left winger Callum O’Dowda, who will get a chance to stake a claim this afternoon, when United’s development squad take on Bournemouth.

The behind-closed-doors fixture will be played at the Championship club’s training ground (2).
