CUMNOR'S promotion party was put on hold after they suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.

Alex Davies was Nondies’ hero, taking 5-13 as the champions-elect collapsed to 112 all out. Only Henry Acland (38) stuck around for long.

Earlier, the visitors had been bowled out for 170 after Pablo Mukherjee hit 67, while Jamie Douglas produced a season’s best figures of 5-38.

Tiddington completed the double over Challow & Childrey to keep their slim promotion chances alive.

John Ponsford picked up 5-72 and Sam Hollingshead helped himself to 4-46 as Challow were bundled out for 149.

Ryan Gordon and Pat Bryan both contributed 41.

Will Cooper (49), Jon Talbot (33) and Will Goodman (30) then steered the hosts to 153-5 in 29 overs.

Wolverton Town stayed in the second promotion spot after beating Abingdon Vale.

Idrees Butt took 5-37 against Vale in June and produced near identical figures (5-36) this time as the home side were skittled for 100.

Town had also struggled against Graham Charlesworth (4-12) and Paul White (3-24) before being bowled out for 136.

Bletchley Town’s relegation was confirmed when they were bowled out for 57 at Aston Rowant 2nd.

It was their lowest score of a dismal season that has seen them dismissed for less than 100 five times.

Tim Foster (5-12) claimed half the wickets, then Ashley Haw hit 36 not out in Rowant’s 59-0, which required only 8.2 overs.

Manoj Parmar hit 78 and Ryan Chapman chipped in with 32 as Bledlow Village reached 176 before being bowled out at Cropredy.

Harry Walter (4-25) was the pick of the home attack.

Cropredy were 79-4 after 23 overs, with Mitchell Darville 44 not out, when rain prevented any further action.
