JUSTIN Burnell felt London Welsh’s stronger squad proved key to the victory over Plymouth Albion.
Burnell has already handed 24 players starts this season, including six new faces against Albion, but it was the bench that gave Welsh a crucial lift at the Kassam Stadium.
“I keep talking about strength in depth,” said Burnell, who was pleased with his side’s strong scrummaging.
“We were very fortunate to be able to bring on Pete Edwards, Billy Moss and Andy Titterrell.
“When you are bringing like for like off the bench, it is difficult to handle.
“I think at that stage Plymouth were not able to that, so we were very fortunate in that respect.
“I believe in rotation, I believe in bringing the best out of every player instead of trying to rely on 15 players to go for the next 20 games.”
