THE Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League has confirmed the provisional promotion and relegation changes for the end of this season.

The normal system has been changed due to Carswell’s exit last month.

If they do not re-apply for the 2014 season and no replacement club can be found, the following format will be followed.

The top two divisions will remain as planned, with two relegated and two promoted.

But in Sections 3 and 4 only the champions will go up.

The bottom two in the third tier will be relegated, leaving the top flight with six teams, while the other divisions will contain five clubs.

  • STUDLEY Wood hosted the 13th Barry Yates Cup, which was won by the man himself.

Yates’s team, the Studley Wood Presidents’ Pals, finished with 93 points to win the Five Star Event competition, which raised money for respite nursing charity ROSY and Riding for the Disabled.

The team also included Jim Elkins, Nick Darnell and Keith Edwards, who claimed a hole in one at the 11th.

Ken Heathcoate’s team were second on 86 points, one ahead of Ian Darby’s outfit.
