INTERMEDIATE CUP
BANBURY Bulls bowed out in the first Midlands round of the national competition after a 31-16 home defeat to Dunstabalians.
Bulls fielded a much-changed youthful side and Dunstablians’ greater experience told in the end with two late tries to make the game safe.
The visitors led via a converted try, but prop Garry Byott forced his way over for Banbury and fly Alex Fogavini’s conversion levelled the scores.
Fogavini added a penalty before Dunstabalians struck with a second converted try.
Another Fogavini penalty made it 14-13 and Bulls full back Carl Daniels was tackled just short of the line before the visitors managed a third try.
Fogavini slotted a third penalty to keep his side in with a sniff, but two converted tries saw Dunstabalians run out worthy winners.
