CROSS COUNTRY

ROY Treadwell and James Bolton will run for England in the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International at Cardiff on Saturday, November 16.

Oxford City’s Treadwell and Woodstock Harriers’ Bolton have been selected for England’s vet 65 and vet 40 teams respectively after impressive seasons on and off-road.

Treadwell, 66, won his age group at the British Masters Cross Country Championships in March and also triumphed in the equivalent 10K road race in August.

Bolton, 40, was fifth in the Oxfordshire Cross Country Championships and has enjoyed a string of road victories, notably winning the Cotswold Classic, where he clocked 54mins 8secs for the challenging ten-mile course.

City’s John Exley is first reserve for England’s vet 65 team, as is clubmate Julian Richardson (vet 45), while Oxford’s Stewart Thorp is third reserve for the vet 60 side.

ABINGDON’S under 13 boys finished seventh in the South of England Cross Country Relays at Wormwood Scrubs.

David Bunn clocked 7mins 52secs for leg one of the 2km circuit.

Nick Wiltshire (7.17) and Adam Ede (7.48) completed the line-up for a total time of 22.57.

Abingdon’s under 15 girls came 11th in 24.00 over the same course, thanks to Lottie Siddle (8.01), Fiona Bunn (7.31) and Juliette Wells Gray (8.28).
