HEADINGTON A go into the holiday break 29 points clear of Didcot Power Station A at the top of Divison 1 in the Wallingford Three Disciplines League.

Their 137-135 win over North Abingdon was down to Graham and Vicky Ashdown, who were in devastating form in the mixed.

Their wins by 15-5, 15-8 over Simon and Anna Wareing, and 15-6, 15-8 over Richard King and Jane Bowen-Morris made certain of victory.

Headington A have an aggregate of 1,032 points from seven matches (five wins). Still breathing heavily down their necks are second-placed Didcot Power Station A with 1,003 points from six matches. North Abingdon slip to third on 864.

Gosford Hill's top two pairings of Wendy Jeffries with Heather Booth and Cath French with Rebecca Peters secured all the wins as their team conquered Leys 6-3 in Division 1 of the Oxford & District Women's League.

Abingdon's third pair Nik Hill and Sanjay Vinjimoor took a vital rubber against the No 1 Windrush pair to secure a 5-4 win in Men's Division 1.

North's five came from Martin Stavey with Becky Lees and Joel Dothi with Jo Sloley. Windrush's second pair of Ian Roberts and Julie Viney were their most successful combination.
