Berinsfield ABC’s Jordan Blake and Michael McDonagh battled their way to victory at Ledbury ABC’s show.
Blake overcame a height disadvantage to gain a unanimous points verdict over Heart of Devon’s Lee Sage.
The Berinsfield fighter kept pushing forward, landing big left hands to the head and body.
Blake kept his taller opponent on the back foot for three blistering rounds to gain the decision.
McDonagh triumphed after Aston’s George Battenborgh was disqualified for constant backchat to the referee.
Working away with straight shots to get inside his opponent, McDonagh then let rip with short hooks to the head and body.
The Aston boxer could not cope with the Berinsfield lad’s power and kept holding , resulting in a warning from the referee, and a points deduction in the second round.
McDonagh kept up the pressure in the third round and with Battenborgh getting lippy, the official disqualified him.
Earlier on the show, Berinsfield’s Gerard Ward was on the wrong end of a unanimous points verdict against the more experienced Harry Hughes, of William Perry ABC, from the West Midlands.
Ward found it hard to get close to the tall southpaw, who used his jab to keep his opponent at bay. He stepped up the pace in the third round, but had left it too late.
