GARY Waddock felt Sam Long and Josh Shama fully deserve their chance to progress after the pair signed new contracts at Oxford United.

Both have agreed one-year deals, with the U’s able to extend them by a further 12 months.

Long, from Bicester, made five appearances for the senior side this season, including a first start in the 1-1 draw at Morecambe in February.

Shama has been on the bench, but the ex-Reading trainee is yet to make his professional debut.

Waddock, United’s head coach, said: “Fans have seen Sam in the first team already and he has real potential as well as a fantastic attitude.

“Josh is a player we have high hopes for because he has quality on the ball and works so hard.”

UNITED have reintroduced their Under 11 season ticket for all parts of the ground.

Some fans were unhappy it had been removed as part of a simplification of the structure and did not want to sit in the family area, where reduced prices remained.

But the U’s have reconsidered and under 11 tickets are now available in all areas.
