Two-times Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton is planning to make her debut as an amateur rider at Newbury next month.
Pendleton, 34, who lives at Moreton, near Thame, has a long-term aim of competing in the Foxhunter Chase at next year’s Cheltenham Festival.
She has been riding out five times a week at Lawney Hill’s Aston Rowant yard, and has set her sights on the George Frewer Charity Race on July 2 for her first ride.
She said: “Right now I’m just focussed on continuing my preparations for Newbury, and I just can’t wait to line up there in four weeks’ time.”
