VICTORIA Pendleton rode to a fine fifth-place finish on her Cheltenham Festival debut.
The three-time Olympic cycling medallist, who lives in Moreton, near Thame, rode Pacha Du Polder for champion trainer Paul Nicholls in the St James's Place Foxhunters Chase.
After setting off at the back of the field, Pendleton finished strongly to make up ground behind winner On The Fringe.
Pendleton said: "I think it is one of the greatest achievements of my life and I hope it is not the last.
"I feel an amazing sense of achievement.
"It is such a rush, such a thrill, riding a thoroughbred race horse over jumps."
