MATT Edney says it is strange to think he will not be pulling on an Oxford Harlequins jersey next season.
The 26-year-old prop played his last match against Maidenhead last Saturday before he flies out to New Zealand this weekend with clubmate Joe Todd.
The plan is to watch at least three games of the British and Irish Lions tour, before going off travelling.
It means Edney, who has been at the club since he was in the under seven age group, will not feature for Quins in 2017/18.
He said: “Not playing for Quins, that will be strange.
“They’re a tight bunch of players.
“I’ve played alongside some of the boys for at least eight or nine years.”
Edney, who has been given 12 months leave from his job as an electrician at Oxford Brookes University, is pretty sure where he will be playing rugby on his return.
“I’ve no plans to go anywhere else,” he said.
“I’m Quins for life.”
