DIDCOT’S Gary Kelsey fought off strong opposition to win the sixth round of the Ace Tackle and Bait Oxford Carp League at Packington Somers’ Molands Lake at Meriden.
Fishing from one of the favoured pegs around Scarecrow Point, which produced the top three finishers, Kelsey won with a net of carp and F1s weighing 65lb 14oz 0drms.
Steve Johnson (Kidlington) was a close second with 60.12.0, while reigning champion Craig Partridge (Kidlington) was a distant third with 32.10.0.

The first round of the Oxford Summer League on the Thames at Abingdon and Culham was won by Mark Harrington (Sensas Reading) with net of 51.0.0, which included 15 bream caught on open end feeder and worm.
Mark Barnet (Drennan Bordon) was second with 36.3.0, just ahead of Steve Harwood (Drennan Oxford Yellow), who came third with 32.7.0.
Carl Eland (Drennan Oxford Blue) was fourth with 21.3.0.

Pete Oliver recorded a narrow victory in the eighth round of Yarnton & District AC’s Summer League at Tunnel Barn Farm in Warwickshire.
Weights were below expectation on the New Pool, Oliver winning with 51.142.0 of carp caught on banded pellet at ten metres.
Runner-up Brian Pickett was just behind with 50.2.0, while Nick Paxton was third with 40.0.0.
Corner pegs dominated Masons AC’s match on Campbells at Milton Pools, with three of the top four finishers being drawn on one.
Steve Wildman came out on top with 171.11.0. Lol Budd was second with 134.11.0 and Dave Pether third on 96.2.0.
