Witney Angels defeated Cambridge Select Ladies 10-5 in a very wet Midlands 1 clash at Hailey Road.
Angels played a disciplined game in the first half and were rewarded with a try from No 8 Teresa Godfrey.
The second half brought further rain, cold and a bitter wind.
Witney scored again when Lolly Gray ran in an interception try.
Cambridge drove over for a try, but Angels held on for a battling win.
