Corner House A took full advantage of leaders Nelson's free week by recording a 5-1 victory at home to Dolphin A in Group A of the Oxford & District Summer League.
Ian Moss (3,850) put them in front, only for Jimmy Robson (8,150) to pull Dolphin level.
Peter Farrelly (7,390 & 10,270), Bob Allsworth (6,130) and Moss again (8,120) secured victory to reduce the gap at the top to one point.
Didcot Conservative Club won 4-2 at home to Masons.
Sue Atkins (7,590, break 7,450) got Didcot off to a good start.
Jenny Abbott (5,690 & 5,340) and a sparkling 14,580 (breaks 6,400 & 8,180) from Dave Tooke saw them home.
Group B leaders Democrafts made it four wins in a row with a 5-1 home victory over Nelson B.
Bletchingdon opened up a five-point lead in Group C after beating Headington Conservative B 6-0.
