Oxford City player-manager Justin Merritt has warned his side against complacency when they host Chesham United on Saturday.

City are in confident mood having drawn against British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division leaders Farnborough on Saturday before winning 1-0 at second-placed Corby on Wednesday.

Merritt's team, who are now unbeaten in four matches, were given another chance in the competition after their first-qualifying round conquerors, Bracknell, were thrown out for fielding an ineligible player.

Chesham are in good form in Division 1 Midlands and beat Conference South side Weston-super-Mare away in the last round.

"We have had some good results over the past couple of weeks," said Merritt, who has added Alex Stewart to the squad with both Jamie Brooks and Dave Savage cup-tied. Darren Quegan is brought in from Oxford City Nomads.

"We have brought in some good players and they are all working for each other.

"I wasn't overly delighted with some aspects of the game against Farnborough and again against Corby. We have to do better when we have the ball.

"I thought Corby were a better side than Farn- borough.

"Last week, before the Farnborough game, we sat the players down and told them I expected four points from our next two games.

"They thought I was kidding and then they went out and did it!"

"But we're not getting carried away. Chesham will be really up for it. They are doing well in the league below us.

Merritt added: "We've already been knocked out of the FA Cup once and we don't want it to happen on Saturday, so we have to be wary of them.

"They are a very good side, so there can be no let-up.

"We have to make sure we keep doing the things we have been doing week in, week out.

"We need to impose our game on them.

"I've not even thought about the next round. I'm really excited about the game and I would hope the players are."
