The player who broke Chinnor scrum half Toby Prescott’s jaw in four places has been banned for six weeks.

Bournemouth fly half Puks Ngapaku was only yellow-carded for the forearm smash on Prescott in National 3 South West on September 5.

But he received the suspension at an RFU disciplinary hearing on Wednesday night after Chinnor produced video footage of the incident.

It had initially been feared that Prescott would be out for most of the season, but scans reavealed the injury was not as bad as first thought.

Head coach Jason Bowers said: “Toby is now seeing the dental surgeon and we are hoping to have him back in the next few weeks.”

Wing Eric Brown is back in Chinnor’s squad to face Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday after a year’s injury absence.

Centre Ben Hewitt (hamstring) faces a fitness test, while hooker Simon Tattersall and flanker Max Williams also return.

Chinnor will go into the match buoyed by a battling 12-6 victory at Coney Hill.

Bowers said: “To win the game was most important, but we played very well.

“It is a pretty intimidating place to go and play rugby.

“We were very pleased with the way the lads fronted up.”

Oxford Harlequins will be without lock Adam Pearson and full back Huw Jones due to teaching commitments for their journey to Exmouth.

Utility player James Aymer comes into a squad with a number of injury doubts.

Quins lost 29-14 at leaders Old Patesians last week, but gave their hosts a real fright.

Director of rugby John Brodley said: “The performance was a cut above anything we’ve played this season.

“We were disappointed not to come away with anything.

“We have got to take that level into every game we play.”

Centre Ali James is out of Henley Hawks’ trip to Lydney in National 2 South due to his commitments as Oxford University physio.

Lock Tom Stradwick limped off against Richmond, so Charlie Nixon is on standby, while hooker Andy Dalgleish (shoulder), flanker Adam Holloway (hamstring) and centre Danny Wells (ankle) are doubts.

Fly half Will Fulton and scrum half Jack Shaylor are pushing for inclusion after impressing as replacements.
