While Oxford University beat London Scottish on Monday night, their Cambridge counterparts received a ‘wake-up call’ against Northampton Saints.
That was how the Light Blues’ own website billed their 73-14 defeat to a strong Saints side at Grange Road.
Perhaps a better gauge of the teams’ form will come with Cambridge facing Saracens on Monday and Oxford hosting the same opponents in their first home game on November 2.
