The Townsend brothers, Bradley and Clinton, both made winning starts to their ring careers at Banbury.

And the Leafield-based duo, who compete for Wolvercote, could herald the start of a family dynasty at the North Oxford club.

Clinton, 13, imposed his authority from the bell in his clash with Walcot's Richard Selby, who was immediately placed on the back foot.

He repeatedly trapped his rival in the corners and landed neat clusters of hooks and uppercuts.

Selby outworked and outclassed could offer no complaints when Clinton gained a comprehensive decision from the judges.

Younger brother Bradley, 11, also dominated his clash with Watford's Tom Walker earlier on the bill.

He went on the attack from the start, catching his opponent with well-placed shots to both head and body.

Walker could not match his silkier skills and had no argument with the unanimous decision handed to his Oxfordshire rival.

A third Townsend sibling, ten-year-old Declan, is waiting in the wings for his ring baptism next season.
