Oxford Harlequins captain Simon Chadbone has been banned for three weeks after punching an Exmouth player.

Prop Chadbone had already been suspended for two weeks by his club, but an RFU disciplinary hearing on Wednesday night added on a further week.

But he will miss only two games, because there was no fixture last weekend, when the suspension came into effect.

Exmouth cited Chadbone, who has a good disciplinary record, with video evidence for the incident during Quins’ 52-15 defeat in National 3 South West on October 9.

Quins director of rugby John Brodley said: “Simon already received a two-week suspension from the club.

“It was a retaliatory punch. The other guy swung and missed, he connected.”

Chadbone’s suspension means James Eckert comes in at loose-head prop for tomorrow’s home game against Weston-super-Mare in National 3 South West.

The other change from the side that beat Old Patesians last time out sees Barty Hills replace Huw Jones (work commitments) on the wing.

Prop Matt Edney and lock Lester Smart come in on the bench, while utility back Mark Forth has a broken wrist.

Brodley said: “We played particularly well against Old Patesians.

We just want to repeat that in the next four games against mid-table sides.”

Flanker Nick Harrison, No 8 Tom Mowbray and fly half Ben Hewitt come back into the reckoning for Chinnor’s trip to struggling Cleve.

The trio have all been out injured, but give head coach Jason Bowers some extra selection options.

Experienced lock Howard Parr returns for Henley Hawks’ home clash with Dings Crusaders in National 2 South.

As a result, Tom Stradwick moves to blindside flanker, with Adam Holloway coming in at openside after proving his fitness.

Jack Shaylor is fit to start at left wing, Neil Baggett replaces James Comben at full back, while James Gaunt comes in for Kenny Sewell.

Dings could include three former Henley players in fly half Mitch Burton, wing Sam Caven and flanker Stean Williams.

Witney make four changes for the visit of South West 1 East leaders Maidenhead.

Hooker Sam Collins, prop Alan Richens, lock Charlie Bennett and flanker Tim Muller all start, with Adam Copperwheat, Matt Calley, Owen Fowler and Joe Rowles dropping out.

Witney hammered a weakened Wallingford 79-0 in the Oxfordshire Cup on Sunday, but Maidenhead have won their last six league games.

Wallingford look to climb out of the drop-zone by winning at Swanage & Wareham.
