Oxford United are offering their biggest prize draw in recent history for those buying tickets to their Christmas games.

One supporter will get the prize of a lifetime – meeting manager Chris Wilder, the coaching staff and players at United’s training ground and travelling on the team coach to an away match plus executive area tickets for the game.

They will then receive two premium economy return tickets to any destination in the world to which Virgin Atlantic fly.

The club call it “the ultimate Christmas present for an Oxford United fan”.

United chairman Kelvin Thomas said: “We have had unbelievable support throughout the year and this is the perfect way to give something back.

“One fan will win a prize that money can’t buy.

“The chance to join the backroom staff at training and travel with them on the team bus is a true once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and then to jet off for a holiday anywhere in the world is the icing on the cake.”

For the chance to win, fans have to purchase tickets for both the home games over the Christmas and New Year period – against Macclesfield on December 28 and Southend on January 1, and do that by 3pm on December 28.

The club will then draw six supporters’ names at random before the Southend match and the lucky fans will be invited onto the pitch at half-time on New Year’s Day for the final prize draw.

One fan will win the big prize, while the other five will receive a pair of VIP tickets for a game later in the season.

Last week, United announced, in conjunction with sponsors Bridle Insurance, that tickets were being slashed for the Bank Holiday fixture against Macclesfield, with advanced adult tickets available from just £11.

The main prize sees the winner watch United train, before having lunch with the manager, staff and players.

They will then see how the team prepare for a game, and on the match day, join in the pre-match meal and set the kit out in the changing room.

The round the world experience, also includes travelling in a chauffer-driven Mercedes to and from the airport, thanks to sponsors Polythene UK, and travel insurance, courtesy of Bridle.
